Voted the seventh greatest stand-up comedian of all time, Englishman Bill Bailey returns to Australia and New Zealand with his new stand-up show Tinselworm.
Comedian, musician, actor and TV presenter, Bill is perhaps the consummate guitar wielding, beard wearing, Klingon-resembling entertainer.
Best known for his stand-up tours – this is his sixth tour here – and work on TV shows including cult comedy Black Books, Spaced and the UK’s Never Mind The Buzzcocks, he’s also acted on stage, played with the BBC Concert Orchestra, and featured in films such as Hot Fuzz, played the voice of The Sperm Whale in Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, and appeared as a runner dressed as Gandalf in this year’s hit comedy Run Fatboy Run.
An accomplished musician he can play piano, guitar, keyboards and many other instruments. Bill is also a passionate campaigner and fundraiser for animal causes.
Reviewers have described his show as “a consistently brilliant collage of musical parodies, anecdotes and off the wall surrealism”, “a treat for the funny bone, the brain and the ear”, and The Times in the UK called him “the finest stand-up comedian this country has to offer”.
