k.d. lang is a musical chameleon with a catalogue of work that is nothing short of impressive.
Covering styles every bit as diverse as her loyal and dedicated fan base, k.d.’s sultry smoky voice has lent itself to a range of genres, from tearjerkers to torch songs, from playful cow-punk tunes to sophisticated grown-up pop. A multi-Grammy Award-winner, she's recorded thirteen albums, including a collection of straight-up country (Shadowland), urbane adult pop (Ingenue, which featured the hit Constant Craving) and torch (Drag). She’s sung the great American songbook with Tony Bennett (A Wonderful World), and invented the modern Canadian songbook with Hymns of the 49th Parallel. Her new album Watershed represents a milestone in k.d. lang's career. For the first time, she has assumed, on her own, the role of producer - as well as writer, singer and multi-instrumentalist. Watershed is about a shift in perspective, a change in direction and a change in priorities. k.d. is back in Australia to tour the album and will be joining Rove for a chat about life, love and her watershed moment.
