The flying redhead, Steve Hooker, gave Australia one of the most electrifying moments at the Beijing Olympics, when he leapt into history to win the gold medal in the Men’s Pole Vault.

Not bad for a man who only a few years ago had to be hypnotised to cope with his fear of pole vaulting! With two parents who represented Australia in athletics, our first male track and field gold medallist in 40 years has an impressive pedigree, an impressive head of hair, and a bucketload of charm.
