Over the last 25 years, New Zealand-born comedian Tony Martin has had a crack at pretty much everything. He was a writer and performer on the cult TV comedies, The D-Generation and The Late Show, and has made regular appearances on Kath & Kim and Thank God You’re Here.
He was one half of radio’s Martin/Molloy, and the creator of the hugely successful Get This radio show and podcast. He wrote and directed the movie Bad Eggs and the controversial unreleased mockumentary BoyTown Confidential. He has toured Australia with his stand-up comedy, shared the ARIA Award for Best Comedy Album (for a record four times), was the author of the massively popular book, Lolly Scramble, now in its fourth printing, and he currently writes for humour website The Scrivener’s Fancy.
His new book “A Nest of Occasionals” is a collection of tales from his life outside showbiz and will be released 1st October. Outrageous coincidences, disgraceful errors of judgement, ancient family disputes and misguided attempts to impress women are just part of the story. He joins Rove at the desk for a chat this Sunday.
